Florida governor Rick Scott has vetoed liscence for DACA applicants
Today has been very upsetting for me. I have had my driving permit for over a month now and was just about to get my lisence when I heard in the news about Florida Governor Rick Scott vetoing a law that would allow DACA applicants to receive a drivers license. Here is the article:

I'm confused. Why would there need be a law to get the licenses? As far as I know as long as you have a work permit you can get a license in the US. Apparently not all states are equal though...You should search when this goes into effect and meanwhile try to get a license from a neighbor state.

Sorry, I'm not very good with politics and all but he vetoed a bill that allowed DACA applicants to receive drivers liscences. Having a drivers lisence was one of the benefits of having DACA, the other one being a work permit and permission to be in the US.

I don't get it, does that mean going forward people who are approve for DACA won't be allowed to get a Florida drivers license...

I know right, it sucks. But keep your hopes up. Hopefully they change their minds. It's not fair because how are we supposed to get to our jobs or basically anywhere? I mean it's great that we get a work permit but how do we get there? Especially if nobody in my family drives... It truly sucks.

Re: Florida governor Rick Scott has vetoed liscence for DACA applicants
It means that DACA applicants will have the benefit of being in the US with permission for 2 years and a work permit. But Rick Scott removed the benefit of obtaining a drivers lisence which for me I think, is pointless, because it is very difficult to get around with no car or lisence.

None of this makes sense, requirements for a drivers license hasn't change http://gathergoget.com/Default.aspx

It probably is because it was just done today. If you watch noticias univision tonight they will cover the issue more and better than what I have.
