Decoding Your DNA

Have you ever consider submitting a sample of your DNA to a genealogical organization (i.e. 23andme) that will discover your ancestry, potential health concerns, compatible genetic mate?

If no, why not?

I have, but then after the NSA scandal I firmly stopped caring.

Think about it like this. The leading genome sequencing company right now is 23and me, 23and me is currently owned by Google, one of the leading corporations that has just been indicted in allowing the United States government( and other western nations) open access to our online data.

Why would I then entrust this same corporation with my genetic information that releases all of my disease weak points and complete ancestry composition?

This modern world isn't safe for that anymore in my view. Shame though, as I'd love too.

I understand where your coming from, perhaps one day we can establish a relationship with a trusted friend, who just happens to be a genetic scientist.

Privacy will be a valuable 'commodity' to those who value their privacy in the near future.

This is another genome sequencing company iGENEA

I have been wanting to do it with 23andme, but I can't afford that $100 right now.
