My Advance Parole Experience from Mexico to California
 

Here is my timeline:
Applied for advance parole: November 11, 2013
USCIS received my application: November 18, 2013
I received the notice receipt in the mail: November 23, 2013
I requested my application to be expedited: November 26, 2013
My expedited request was approved: December 4, 2013
My AP was approved: December 23, 2013
I received my AP document in the mail: December 27, 2013
Traveled to Mexico: January 1 - January 11, 2014

I applied for advance parole for two reasons; 1) My dad was having knee surgery in Mexico Jan 3rd and 2) I needed to enter the US legally so I can adjust my legal status. I entered the US illegally when I was 3 and I am now married with a US citizen. I was approved for DACA on October in 2012.
Here is my experience entering the US with advance parole;
I arrived to the San Francisco International airport in California from Mexico. When we got off the airplane, a hallway lead us directly into the immigration and customs lines. There were two lines, one for US citizens/residents and one for visitors. My husband traveled with me and since he is a US citizen we did not know if we had to go in separate lines so we decided to ask an officer. We both went into the visitor line and the officer said we could both stay together in the visitor line. I showed him my passport and my advance parole document. He took my fingerprints on an electronic pad and took my picture. He then told us to wait in a room. We walked down the hall to a small room that looked just like any other lobby at the airport, nothing scary. I walked up the the front desk and the officer asked for my husband's passport, my passport, and my two original copies of my advance parole. There were about 6 people in the room already waiting for their documents to be looked at and the officers were looking at them in order as they arrived. We waited for about 20 minutes in the room sitting with all the people that were waiting. Then an officer called my name and both my husband and I went up to the front desk. The officer asked me what I was planning on doing after I was paroled in and I said that my husband was a US citizen and that he was going to help me obtain my residency. And he said "oh that's going to be fast and easy, congrats!" And then he stamped and signed both of my advance parole documents and he kept one copy and gave me the other and said "have a great night". We thanked him and we were on our way. That's it! Nothing scary, nothing to worry about. Please let me know if you would like more details or anything I can help with. :D

Congrats! Seems to be similar to other experiences on here.

Question regarding the expediting process. Is there a special form you have to submit or did you call the service center / write a letter asking for expedited service in your original application? Thanks.

I am gathering some tax information that I need from my husband and then I am going with my lawyer to sumbit my AOS application =)

CONGRATULATIONS !!!!! The officer was right as long as all your paperwork is in order,USCIS is moving pretty fast on AOS cases.

I called USCIS customer service after I had received my receipt number in the mail. They approved it in 5 days.
