Expired Passport, does it matter for renewal?

Hey, so my passport expired last year and it would really save me some time if I didn't have to renew it but question 9 in part 2 asks for passport number and expiration date. Should I put in the expired date or should I renew it? Anyone else's passport expired??

When I originally applied for DACA I sent (copies) my expired passport. I'm planning to put that info in this renewal.

I think it's part of the section about travel and if you did travel outside the US then having your passport info verifies this. So it's not necessary for it to be current.

If they accepted expired passports in the first round, I dont see why they wouldn't for now.

FWIW, my passport also expired this year, and I sent out my package.

Nothing I could do really, (and I probably won't ever be able to get it renewed as my Embassy wants a million original documents from my parents, even their marriage certificates!!! WTF???), and all of that is a bitch to get.

BTW, if it makes you feel any better. There is a note somewhere in the I-821D instructions where they accept expired passports as proof of ID, so I figure if they are OK with expired passports for identification purposes, then maybe they are OK with it for all purposes.

And also many people got initial approvals with expired passports...heck, I never heard of anyone getting denied for an expired passport...so it should be OK hopefully.

Thanks everyone! Was asking because they specifically asked for the expiration date. I'll try to get it renewed since it's not such a hassle for me.
