Question for STEM majors

Has anyone successfully applied to a research internship position? I'm a junior and I am planning to go to grad school. I know that some sort of research experience is crucial in applications, but most internships require you to be a USC or LPR.

Also, has anyone already applied to grad school?

Thanks

I see, well first of all you should start by joining http://www.phdreamers.org/, this is a group for undocumented students interested in STEM careers, they have a list of internships related to STEM from all over the country, as well as people applying to grad/med/nursing/dental school. I myself live in NYC and I did a summer internship at the CUNY Summer Undergraduate Research Program (CSURP). It is open for any STEM major and when I did it they offered housing for the summer for free. They basically place you in a lab of your choice in any of the CUNY Senior colleges around NYC. Good luck

I volunteered in a research lab at my college before I applied to grad school. You don't get paid but its worth the skills and experience! Try asking your professors if they have any space in their lab for volunteers.
