Why does people say that illegals always use welfare?
 

Everytime I go on a news article about immigration there is always people saying that ALL illegals use welfare.What makes them think that every illegal uses welfare?My mom has never used welfare she works hard everyday to provide for our family. It makes me mad that Americans think that we are "lazy" "gangbangers" "disrespectful" and so on.

If anything, legal immigrants use welfare more than undocumented who become legal.. I used to know some who came here on a GC lottery and milk the fuck out of the system. On the other hand people who were here undocumented and got a GC eventually don't ever touch that shit.

People say that because they don't bother to truly look for facts. Or they simply don't use reason. But beyond that, I don't get why people complain about those people that do use welfare. Why don't people focus on corporate and rich people welfare? Now that is a real drain on the economy. Poor people welfare is cents compared to rich people welfare.

Well, there are many illegals who do game the system if we're honest. I drive a heavily poor and Hispanic area every day and on any given day I see a pregnant woman with a stroller and one or two other kids following her along. The typical baby delivery is 10-$15,000. Do you think that woman who is likely undocumented (it's a fair assumption given this area,trust me. ) paid $60,000 to have all her kids delivered? I doubt it.

I think its funny how their arguments contradict each othet. The say " illegals are lazy and get welfare" but at the same time they say " Dey took err jeerrbs! So which is it?

Some of these people need to educate themselves when it comes to "welfare" They always say that we immigrants get all kinds of benefits from the government.
1. An "Illegal person" will never qualify for ANY type of Government assistance.
2. If you have children who are American Citizens THEY will qualify for.....
A. Medicaid
B. Food Stamps (which could be very minimum unless you have 10 kids)
3. Any housing or Section 8 programs.
4. Any health insurance, unless you work your ass off to pay for it at your job.

As far as people assuming that when you see a woman with 3 or more children are "Illegal" that's is wrong 50% of the time. I personally know a couple of women who are Citizens and they really, really work the system, and they really live off the Government. Since they do qualify for every benefit available out there.
I do not see how we are taking any ones jobs? The jobs are there for who ever wants to work. Either you work or live off the Government is that simple.

Citizens gaming the system is a different story, but trust me, in this particular area, it's easy to spot who's illegal. I also know first hand of a guy who had lost a limb while working here without documents in the 70's (he got a little money out of it from the company), but in the early 80's his wife made him go back to mexico so he missed out on the amnesty of 86 and he was back here again for many years getting free medical care at a county hospital. Not Medicaid but the gold card as they call it. Anyway, he was deported a few years ago when one of his neighbors got busted for having a bunch of illegals in a safehouse and he got caught up in the net too.

My point is that while I think overall, undocumented people here are a net positive --we're not paying $3 a tomato and houses are not being built by Americans, it doesn't hurt to look into our own community and call out the moochers and those who give the rest of us a bad name. They do exist. I know many legal immigrants who have been trained to go claim SSI disability too and I call them out every chance I get.

I know many of us like to think all undocumented people are as noble as we are, but I'm sad to say we are not all the same.

Unfortunately IamAman is right. Some people do abuse the system even if they're illegal immigrants. I know close friends and relatives who have come to the U.S. on a tourist visa while pregnant just to give birth and then lie about having lived and worked here for a while just to get WIC. Also another couple who are relatives who are both undocumented, live off of foods stamps and section 8 help that they get for their 2 U.S. citizen-kids and then complain about not finding jobs cause they don't have papers. I've seen all this while my wife put herself through college on her own, then got DACA and just recently was able to obtain her green card, yet never received government assistance. Though I doubt that many if any in here get welfare, it would be ignorant to think that some illegal immigrants out there don't milk the system.

It's quite funny, in fact, I hear about such inherent abuses from my parents.

They often tell me of the stories of Medicaid abuse where these parents with US Citizen children are often on food stamps and medicaid, driving luxurious gas consuming vehicles, coming into the doctor's office for rudimentary symptoms. "Oh, my child is not eating" or "She has a cough for two weeks!" and often times it can be attributed to simple things like overfeeding the child and they come in and demand to see a specialist even after explaining it multiple times, and then there are times where it is a serious condition and yet they come in after 2-3 weeks of having it.

Those people who abuse the system are also the same people who abused the immigration system. They have legal status. And just recently, we reported a familyfor medicaid fraud. They drove a nice highlander and was going to a central american country (I forgot which one) for a month, they can obviously pay for health insurance.
