DACA Recipient Credit Rerport
Hello fellow dreamers,
Has anybody found credit cards or loan accounts in their credit report that were open before you received your SS#? I have found a few, created disputes and I want to know that I am not the only one. Someone with experience on this, can you explain why accounts appeared before my SS# existed? I created a thread on this before but not much feedback was received. Maybe this time there are more of you that have checked their credit report. |

I recently found out I had a "credit file" in a state I lived many years ago. I was only 14 or so at the time. Basically what happened was that the school bus scratched another car while me and a bunch of other kids were in it and apparently all accidents have to be reported. So a bunch of lawyers and insurance companies got my name and address and sent a ton of mail hoping my parents would make use of their services and hopefully even sue someone due to this terribly horrific accident. It's about 10 years now and the people living there still get insurance/credit card offers in my name. In fact the car insurance rate they are offering me is over 3x cheaper than what I pay now!!! That's just one example of how it can happen. There's a ton more ways a "credit file" can be created. In your case though I guess someone had the same/very similar name as yours and your file got merged with theirs. Providing the accounts you see are not yours. |

Re: DACA Recipient Credit Rerport
Wait so then can anyone tell me what will happen to me?
I have about 5000 dollars in debt from my university. it's two debts, one of 3500 and another one of 2500. It's both from a decent university I went to. Both of those are in collection agency and they've called me numerous times but I always avoided the call because I can't pay it off since I don't have work permit yet. So I'm assuming I have a bad credit under my name and address... Will this information (bad credit) transfer over to my new SSN if I ever get one? |

what do you mean by new ssn? you always have the same ssn, unless one is fake or there is fraud involved. But you will likely have this follow you around unless youre using a fake social in which case the penalties are far worse if caught. |
Re: DACA Recipient Credit Rerport
No i dont have a ssn nor itin or any form of "number" to verify my credit. In my state, public universities give out short term loan up to 2500 dollars and i can attend classes without paying one quarter's worth of tuition so the 2500 loan and one quarters worth of tuition add up to about 5000.
Only way to track my debts are by my name and address and thru agency. So i was wondering if all that will transfer over to my ssn once i get it... By new ssn, i mean getting my daca approved and obtaining ssn. Ive never had a ssn nor itin so... |
