Hi, I'm a DACA holder and just had a quick question.

When interviewing for a job position, how does it work? Do I have to tell them about my status? Also when applying is there a question that asks you if youre a citizen, PR or DACA holder or how does it exactly work?

The interview only focuses on your qualifications for the work and your experience. They are not allowed to ask you about your citizenship it's against the law unless the position requires you to be one.

It's only after that you're hired that they will ask you to bring documents for your employer to fill out the form I-9 (it's on the USCIS website if you want to see). Again, you will bring your EAD and Social. They will fill it out. And, legally, once they hired you they can ask to see your EAD again when the expiration date approaches.

The I-9 form has to be filled by your employer (one part) and the other by you. They CANNOT tell you which documents you can provide, but since we have DACA, the only option for us is to show our work permit, NO NEED for the SSN (I don't know why people keep saying this, I hope one day they read the I-9 instructions, and I am NOT criticizing you Malignon, I'm just generalizing).

I have gone to several interviews and did not to disclose anything pertaining my status. If you are given an offer and accept it, when HR asks for your permit, they only care that it is not expired.

What I've noticed here, is that people keep feeling 'down' because they have a permit and are not USC, and that attitude also affects them. We are legally able to work almost everywhere as long as our permit is good.

Yup exactly, people don't seem to get that with our work permit, you could land any job (sans Federal jobs) and get paid six figure salaries or more depending on your talent :-)

I consider myself blessed to have qualified for DACA!

i've been to quite a few interviews and applying for jobs in nyc. i'd say a lot of them do ask if i would need a sponsorship now or in the future in which i reply no. but this beg the question, are we DACA allowed be sponsored?

Sponsorship entails that the enployer can in the future apply for you for a green card under the employment categories. Since most people under DACA are in the country illegally (without a visa status) and not covered by 245i that means that sponsorship is pretty much out of the question.
