Ugh, upset with processing time!

My DACA expired in November... I didn't have enough money to pay for the application until December.
I sent it out, it was received December 16th, 2014.
I went for biometrics.
Now, I Called the USCIS, they said they are working on September 4th's applications.
Mine is December 16th!
That's 3 months APART.
Last time I called the guy said I would get it either March or April, now they're saying April/May
This is just a RENEWAL guys. Why is it taking so long???
I got a job at Verizon Wireless being a sales rep. I make good money now and I have potential to make bank!
I'm on their payroll, that's not the problem.
My license for NJ expired 3 weeks ago. I have to drive to work 3-5 times a week! I can't renew it until I get the actual card. I already spoke with DMV, they can't do anything.....
OMG. :(

Sorry, you have yourself to blame here. They already say that you should send your application 3 months before it expires which means you should have done it in August. You waited 4 months past the recommended time to do it. On top of that, it sometimes takes 4 to 5 months for the process so even in best case, there would be a delay.

If something is this important in your life like a work permit, and you had a year and a half to save money for it, you should have saved the money for it so at least you would have done what you could and if it was still delayed, then you could be grumpy that it's not fair etc.

Ok, first, as you know your renewal was sent late and they give you a 120 day time frame (which can be even more than that for strange reasons, mine was there sitting pretty for 122 days until I took it in my hands to get the process moving).

Second, USCIS customer service is just people who pick answers from their screen I guess with out even knowing anything about immigration, much less DACA. I heard there are level 2 reps. with whom I have never spoken to. However, do not rely on regular reps. DO NOT.

If you think your case is compelling or 75 days have passed and you see no change in your status, file a case assistance request with the ombudsman. I don't have the link with me but look it up on google, ombudsman DHS.

This isn't something I'm blaming myself. It is what it is, now it is not in my control anymore. How about you? did you renew it ?

I don't have one, but as soon as the expanded DACA comes on the 18th and the age cap is gone, I'll be jumping on it. That's kind of my point though- this is the single most important document in our lives so we have to be on top of things. You are right though, there is nothing that can be done now but wait.

"I sent mine 3 months late and wondering why is it taking longer! Don't they know its already expired!? they should stop working on the cases of people who sent it on time and work first on all the late applications like mine!"

I don't mean to step on anyone's toes here, but if this poor dreamer said she couldn't submit it due to financial reasons. I don't think it's any one to blame. Unfortunately, sh!t happens. Not everyone is able to save, it would have been the smart thing to do, but most people have responsibilities to take care of. You don't know her situation.

I'm sure your application is going through the process. There's people who submitted their application before the 120 mark and still didn't get anything yet.

USCIS does not care of her situation - USCIS does not care if this person had other stuff to deal with, as far as they are concerned, this persons application came late and as you said, there are people who still havent gotten an answer even are applying within the time. So what makes this person think they are any special?

This person had close to two years to save, maybe next time, this person should set aside a little saving account for 18 months, and add what $6.50 a week to have enough next time. Are you people seriously this irresponsible? Get a piggy bank and add 1 dollar a day for 504 days.

Ok, let me clarify here because you're taking this way out of context.

I was merely pointing out the lack of respect for this person, just as you're doing to me. I was addressing the comment about blaming herself for being irresponsible. I'm sure she's paying the consequences now, she doesn't need someone to bash her for it too.

So, please spare yourself the financial lessons. It's easier said than done!
