No More AB540?
More idiots trying to repeal in state tuition. It's like they have a hive mind.

And all of that BS about Texas losing millions of dollars because of in state and financial aid is, as I said, BS. According to the TX comptroller, the state had a net gain in revenue from undocumented immigrants--and that's not even taking into account the fact that many wouldn't attend if it weren't for in state and financial aid. Also, (there's more) all of these stats about "undocumented immigrants" aren't really just about undocumented immigrants, but ALL immigrants who are neither permanent residents nor citizens. |

Re: No More AB540?
The bright side if it passes it is that hopefully legal citizens/residents of this state/country would appreciate how valuable we are and not for cheap labor but for students persuing education.

Re: No More AB540?
The governor of California supports AB-540, and I doubt the democratic legislature of California will repeal the the law.

Re: No More AB540?
Damn, I was talking to my mom about the possibility of AB 540 being repealed because of the budget cuts and we laughed about how the law is still in effect, and that despite of the budget cuts, things were still good... Not so, apparently. Damn Republicans! I hope this doesn't go through but I don't know... The cut is huge and I wouldn't be surprised if the assembly decides to go through with this ridiculous law.

Re: No More AB540?
Yeah this is very sad. A bill was brought up in texas last year that would have repealed ours also, but they amended it and basically killed it quick. Then again Texas has a big surplus and doesnt have that guard situation so i dont know.
I dont think people illegal or not should be denied the chances of going to college. |
