Advanced Parole - Multiple Trips to Visit Ailing Father?

My fellow Dreamers,

Anybody here had experience with multiple trips using advance parole?

I'm asking this because my father, who has colon cancer, was admitted into hospital Friday night under intensive care. The doctors basically left us with two options: surgical operation which will likely do more harm than good, or do nothing and see if the antibiotics would actually help. He's stabilized right now, but I desperately need to go back to see him and am working with my brother at home to get the doctor's note.

I know on the advance parole application you can request for one trip or multiple trips. I want to know if anybody had success with multiple trips? How detail would the doctor's note need to be? Would I need docs to prove our paternal relationship?I know I will be taking risks for using parole more than once, but I need to see him again because things could go wrong further down the road.

Please forgive me for rambling a bit. I'm very very worried about my dad.

Many thanks.

I don't have personal experience with what you're asking but I did a search on the forum and found some answers.

1) This DAP member here got a multiple entry humanitarian AP for 5 months. You should read that whole thread btw. This thread was started by a member who got it for one year and whose story is similar to yours. You'll find other accounts by doing a search for multiple entry advance parole or one year advance parole.

2) You can request AP for up to one year. You need 3 things 1) doctor's letter stating your father's diagnosis and prognosis. 2) a compelling letter about why you should be allowed to travel 3) proof that you are related to your father i.e. a birth certificate. If you have the doctors letter, a good letter and a birth certificate and the fee you'll most likely be approved. Good luck.

You may want to consider applying in person at your local USCIS office with an info pass appointment, go to www.uscis.gov and look up info pass and make the appointment for when you think you'll have all the evidence in your hands. You will need to bring app, evidence and fees with you.

I did just that and was approved same day with multiple entries and for a year.

Congrats. This is great info. Please explain more about this. Did you follow the emergency AP procedures outlined here? Evidence provided? Thanks!

I just made the info pass appointment online and gathered my evidence, doctor's letter, birth certs and translations, 2 passport photos and my personal statement and went to my appointment. They had some sort of meeting going on so they took about 5 hours to have it done but they approved it there.

To tell you the truth it wasn't an emergency for me but I sure made it sound like it was. I now have my residency because as soon as I found out I could gain legal entry with AP, I went for it.

How was your airport experience upon re-entry with the DACA AP document? I'm nervously waiting for my AP approval... just got the receipt notice.

I didn't go through an airport, I drove through AZ/Sonora border and it went fine. No hassle at all.

Thanks for your information. If you don't mind me asking, did you get your residency through marriage or family petition?

Did you receive 2 AP documents? And did the border patrol agent keep one or both? I've heard conflicting answers. I'm hoping you get to keep at least one so u have proof of legal entry. I need mine for AOS...
