Virgin Islands St Croix
Hello,
I just wanted to let everyone know about my experience this past week. Please forgive me though, because I don't have a lot of time to write it properly. I was granted DACA two years ago, and the current expiration date is April 22nd 2015. I haven't traveled outside New England for 22 years and I wanted to go some place warm, but Florida wan't what I had in mind. I did think about PR because there were successful stories going there. I just had different interests in mind. We chose St Croix because it had booking availability that worked with my work and semester spring break. It all worked fine in the end. About the actual travel: We took a plane from Boston to Miami, and then Miami to St Croix. Considering that is a domestic flight all I needed was to show my drivers licence. Never any questions or complications. We took a place from St Croix to Miami, and from Miami to Boston. Here is what I had no information on. I wasn't sure what to say when I gave my drivers licence to St Croix customes. My companion being citizen, gave his drivers licence and social security number, and they found him in the system. They did not find me in the system. They ask what citizenship you have and I was afraid that if I said not US they would ask for passport with visa/ or greencard. This is obviously the case. So here if what you need to do, give them all your daca documentations, drivers licence, and your real passport. The costumes officer had to send me to someone else. This took about ten minutes, but the second officer looked over the paperwork and wrote things down on her paperwork. Then sent me along. There was no problems in Miami because again it was a domestic flight from there. Good luck! It was amazing. |

Re: Virgin Islands St Croix
Thanks for sharing. I'm thinking of going to the Virgin Islands this year.
Seems those who travel to US Territories, it is advisable to take your DACA papers, SSN, EAD, and DL/ID You stated you took your passport. Did they check for a visa? Which country are you from? Thanks for the info! |
