Joining MAVNI soon

Submitting my paperwork today, asvab and opi next week, should able to enlist the week after.

Paramedic program through army in Texas.

Anyone else joining the army here?

I was interested in that but not sure how one qualifies or how the program works can you explain it?

I'm also in the process of joining. Am submitting all of my paperwork and will take the test late next week. is the paramedic program AMEDD? or enlisted?

If you want to know how to qualify for the MAVNI program, look here: http://www.defense.gov/news/MAVNI-Fact-Sheet.pdf

You must speak one of the listed languages, or qualify as a US licensed medical professional (like a doctor or dentist). You don't need any prior experience if you are signing up as a paramedic, but you do need foreign language expertise. You must also complete a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) successfully; this is a rigorous background check that involves an investigator interviewing you, your employers, your professors, and your friends and family. As of last week, about forty six DACAs had enlisted through the MAVNI program but we are still waiting to see if any of them can pass the SSBI.

The "paramedic" program is an enlisted program, not AMEDD. This person probably means Military Occupational Specialty 68W ("combat medic") if he or she is enlisting in the Army. This is an enlisted job.

MAVNIexpert, are you currently enlisted? If so were you able to pass SSBI?

I seriously hope we can hear about a successful SSBI soon. Based on my understanding I qualify. Fit the language bill, and unless my identity was stolen I can't think of anything wrong I've done to fail the SSBI besides undoc parents.

This is a very slow process, much slower than what my recruiter said.
First you put in your g845
Wait for approval
Then you take asvab
Then your medical exam
Then your OPI
Then you enlist
Then you wait around 6 months for SSBI
Then you ship to BCT
