Help! Selective Service and DACA?
Hey, folks!
I received a letter from the Selective Service System reminding me I have not yet registered. I tried to register online, as suggested by the letter. For some reason or another, when I enter my information, submit it and confirm, I get a notice letting me know there is an error with the information provided (Social Security Number). One of the plausible reasons it states is the information is not yet in their data base. Which brings me to this question: Are we. DACA recipients, also required to register?? And if so, why wont my information go through? Should I just send in the form by mail? Thank you all for your time, -Pablo |

Re: Help! Selective Service and DACA?
Long before DACA, when I turned 18, I registered for selective service. If you live in the USA, whether legally here or not, when you turn 18 and are an able bodied MALE, you are supposed to register for Selective Service. I asked these questions to representatives of the Armed Forces who came to my high school, so I followed the rules, and did as I was told.

Re: Help! Selective Service and DACA?
Interestingly I still have the letter from Selective Services after I registered in 2001.

Re: Help! Selective Service and DACA?
I never got a letter and never filled one out. Don't ask, don't tell.
