Hey Guys,

I'm trying to get some more info regarding the process for obtaining a CA DL through AB60. I am asking for someone I know who passed their written, fulfilled their document requirements and is still waiting for a letter in the mail before being able to schedule their behind the wheel. Does this process sound about right? It has been almost 4 months since the DMV appt and every time we call, they say to keep waiting for a letter. Any tips on what we should do? Please share your personal experiences. Thank you so much for your help!

Has this person have a California driver license in the past? I know two folks who have been waiting for 4 months and that's is what's holding up the process

Yes she has.. I assumed that would make the process easier? I'm glad to hear she wasn't the unusual case.. we were worried it got lost in the mail or the DMV personnel weren't very educated on the topic...

Not all. This is very common. I think they're investigating whether they obtained that license by presenting false documents. As a matter of fact, one of them called on Friday and they told them that the process can take up to one year. It sucks.

Dang, that's depressing news... do you know anyone who has obtained a DL through AB60?

Is her issue not the secondary review? Coz my brother had a Ca ID before but he was given a permit after he passed. My hubby doesn't have a CaID and he was referred to secondary review. They submit the same requirements.(birth certificate, passport, bank documents) Only difference is my brother has an ID before. And hubby is still waiting for that letter in the mail for 3 months now.
