White House/US Capitol Tour

Hello folks,

This may be bit random but has anyone done a white house or us capitol tour? I am planning to visit DC with my friends (who are US citizens) and I am a bit confused on how non-citizens can apply for the tour. Do we really have to go through our embassy in DC or can I just go through my state senator/representative?

I would appreciate any feedback..

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I was in Washington DC two months ago, but did not attend the white house tour since I did not know about reserving tickets in advance.

Generally, one would need to contact the local US representative in your area and ask for a reservation to tour the white house. I do not believe you are required to be a US citizen to request an RSVP through your local representative, but you can always call their office directly and ask. Make sure to schedule your tour a couple of months in advance though.

To get started, look up your local representative using your zip code using this website: http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/

Hope I helped.

I scheduled one for the second week of May. Why wouldn't it be safe? I've done the U.S Capitol tour before; you should do it you can do schedule it yourself. Hopefully, the WH can come back with a decision this week or next week (they say they'll get back 2-3 weeks before your expected tour)

I received the email to register today and I registered for the summer. Hopefully, they reply with a positive decision. Let me know how it goes. We are flying from Cali in the summer.

Go ahead and do a Capitol Tour also. You can schedule one yourself.

P.S. I'll let you know once they get back to me
