Legalization through marriage
So who's going this route? Are you going to ask your friend, neighbor, or significant other to do you this favor or are you going to hold out hope. Is there even anyone you know to ask who would do it for you.

Re: Legalization through marriage
As of right now that unfortunately seems like the only realistic option for staying in this country and not living in the shadows. Marriage was not in my near future, at least not in the next decade. Now it's looking like it needs to be within the next couple of years. Terrifying.

Re: Legalization through marriage
It will probably be the route I take. I'm dating a wonderful guy who wants to marry me so I can stay here.
I'm still mulling this over. I don't think my family will be deported, but if they were....I honestly don't know if I want to stay here. They are so important to me. |
Re: Legalization through marriage
Yes, marriage seems like a very viable life line right now. Though I would highly discourage committing marriage fraud and marrying a random Dick or Jane just for a green card. It's very tough to pull off and you could lose your chance to ever be legal in this country if denied. Way too risky.
So throw on your best clothes, bring out your charms, dust off your pick-up lines and hit the dating scene to find you some US citizen hubby/wifey material. |

Re: Legalization through marriage
We are on the same wavelength my friend; was considering doing the exact same thing. Actually have a couple coworkers who met their spouses on OKCupid. Ah, the internet era is a wonderful thing.

I wonder if we can still AOS and get that approved with 2 months from now if the Trump doesn't absolve DACA. I want to know if I should get it started on aos asap to maybe he will keep DACA or delay his decision.

Re: Legalization through marriage
Marriage was not something that I wanted to think about until at least my early 30's. Over the last few hours, I'm starting to feel that that is something that I might need to do. But I don't have a girlfriend, so I could be toast if he decides to end it as soon as he takes office.
Best hope right now would be for him to end the program, but allow those with unexpired permits to continue working until our expiration date, for me it would be Oct 2018. That would give me time to find someone and marry for love, not fear. Best of luck to every one of us, I was so happy to have received by 2nd renewal after the delay, but now I'm devastated. let's hope that all this talk on the campaign trail was just hot air and that deep down, he doesn't do what we fear he could do. |
