DACA recipients are as vulnerable as anyone else
Quote:
For anyone who has read the memos from yesterday, it's obvious they are purposefully ambiguous. They "leave DACA alone", yet we all fall under the 7th priority for a removable alien (in the judgment of an immigration officer, otherwise pose a risk to public safety or national security). This is up to the discretion of the agent. It'd be really hard to prove otherwise if he accused you of something you didn't do. IMO, this is what we should be looking at: Quote:

We should be cognizant that while we do still have our work permits, as it stand, our deportation protections are easily stripped if the agent feels like it. There's no guidance for the agent so it'll be really hard to fight like we are seeing it happening for the dreamer in Seattle. |

yeah if you're a moron, you're vulnerable.

We are low level priorities. This is how it has been for the past 4 years...
Always to the discretion of DHS. The Memo specifically excludes DACA. No change. You can always find a way to get deported even if you have a green card. |

Reality is that we have never been safe. There are always risks. Your risk of being deported are about the same as dying in a traffic accident right now. |
