Advance Parole question

Dear all

Hope all is well. I have a question. I'm from small Asian country and I have been in the US for 17 years. I received my DACA in Oct 2012 and have been renewing since. My EAD is good until 08/2018.

My grandfather passed away recently and I would like to come and pay my respects. My father is also not doing too well; I have not seen him since 2000. I spelled this out on my I131 form.

My question is twofold:

1. My application was received on May 1st. I'm planning to travel on June 18th or around that time line. Is it possible to travel out without the actual AP document in hand? Do theyt check this when you leave? The rush is that I would be very late for my family grieving period.

2. Once you receive the AP, how long is this valid for ? Is there a requirement that we stay within time? say 180 days (over 180 may affect DACA status)?

I also did not do the expedited application like normal people. Is this extra than the $575 fee I shelled out?

Thanks all

1. Do NOT leave without the AP in your hand. You are able to leave anytime but when you come back if they notice that you left before you had your AP (valid dates of travel), they will probably catch this and not let you back in.

2. It depends. How many days did you ask for? I believe as long as you come back between the given time frame you should be good.

3. Processing times vary. I would check uscis.gov website.
https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processT...C9RCyFagQNRyeu

You can also (and should) search the forums for recent processing times.

yeah dont leave without AP. they dont check your app at all when you leave from here. when you come back they will check you ap. dont leave before or without AP. travel and come back only between the time they will give you.

Do not leave without your AP.

Don't worry about your family grieving period. It is not the same as it is in the US and your family will be happy whenever you get there. They will understand.

What country? If it is a Buddhist ritual, you can still go and give your respects ( We call it 拜拜 )

Dont leave the US without AP. Also, USCIS usually gives you the amount of time you asked for. If you asked for a month, then they give you a month. It really depends on the officer too if they believe you may need more time then they give that to you.

Technically, you could ask for AP for a maximum of 365 days.

1. You can travel out whenever, you simply won't be able to return without valid documentation(AP). Traveling out without AP will also mean your DACA is forfeit.

2.AP is valid for the duration that USCIS gives. If you do not travel within the timeline given, again, you forfeit the ability to travel back and DACA.

Dear all

I spoke to USCIS customer service and this is the official answer:

1. After August 15, 2012, if you travel outside the US without AP approval, the DACA status will terminate.

2. Also the Nebraska (LIN) center is still processing AP request from Nov 2016. (what?) Is this true?
They said check back on 15th or 18th of month to check progress.
I've seem some on this board that was approved within a month or so.

Thanks a lot for everyone feedback

3. There is no expedited AP process for DACA recipients

Re: Advance Parole question

I am getting very anxious about my AP application.

I submitted April 21st.
Received April 22nd.
Receipt letter April 24th.
Wrote on my application and explanation letter to EXPEDITE.
Call customer service to EXPEDITE, May 3rd.
Have an InfoPass 05/17/17 at 1145am......

my question is....I have copies of my application and everything I submitted with it...would i be able to get it approved or expedited even more if i go to the infopass and talk to an agent in person?

Any suggestions?

*I can't contact my congressman since he is REP. ugh! FML!

Any ideas would be helpful! I am trying to get this approved before my submitted dates which were Jun9th for a 10 day period under humanitarian reasons.

-My father is very ill and hospitalized have not seen him in 20 yrs and other than his parents who are in their 70s I would be the other next of kin to make decisions since im the only one who can travel with AP.

:'(
