Renewing California's Driver License

Anyone here from California?

Can you renew the license online or do I have to go to DMV? Can you renew early or have to wait near the expiration date?

yeah do it online brody, like 30 days before your expiration and they send u a new one 2 weeks later.

new DL = 5 years!

I haven't been able to do mine online. I've always had to do it via mail.

I got a letter to renew it by mail and it's good for 5 years.

It tells you on your renewal notice if you can renew online

I also got a letter to renew it online or by mail. I mailed it a week ago, DL should arrive soon and I expect it to be valid for 4 or 5 years.

I received my renew notice about a week ago and I just renewed mine last night.
Yes I have registered on the dmv.ca.gov.

easy, now just need to wait for the new DL

But one of the requirements to renew online is for the person to have a valid SSN with the DMV since the year 2000.
