The title is: A bill to authorize the cancellation of removal and adjustment of status of certain individuals who are long-term United States residents and who entered the United States as children and for other purposes.

I wonder what the "for other purposes" means.

With the current situation I think it would viable to submit a letter to a higher authority in Canada. I am sure We have done this in the past, but the current news would put more weight on the issue.

After 9/11 there was an influx of illegal immigrants from USA into Canada. Majority was granted asylum at the point of entry....until Canada opened their eyes and put a stop to it.

Perhaps we could be that influx based on the current Dream Act dilemma.

Yes, the Canadian government is very generous and might make a compromise with the DREAMers but unless you're moving to Toronto then I don't recommend moving to Canada at all because it's not a feasible place to live.

For example, Vancouver is currently going through a housing bubble crisis due to Chinese immigrants manipulating the market so even if you generate a lot of income through your high tier job, you won't find a house that's affordable anywhere.

There are no jobs in Eastern Canada unless you're into that remote stuff and the weather conditions there are completely horrendous.

If you're planning to get a government job, you have to be fluent in French and some locations like in Quebec, French is the dominating language. In fact, if you're competing for a job there you have to bilingual in order to stand out because most of their citizens speak an average of 2 languages.

Northern Canada is completely overrun by Indian reservations. The central states like Alberta to Manitoba have a shitty job market due to something that had to do with oil companies and their weather conditions are horrendous as well.

....And reality sinks in lol. My parents moved to Surrey, BC Canada. There are opportunities just scattered. And yes real estate has inflated due to Chinese investors. My sister opted for a condo versus a house due to the outrageous prices. But I feel Canada will be another cultural melting pot in near future. It already is...but a melting pot of Hispanics/Latinos/etc. I come across Portuguese/Spanish need in the Canadian job bank. As time goes competition just gets cut throat and inflation will be there. If we make the move now then we can overcome a later inflation or competition. Things will just get worse, specially since Canada is friendly at some degree to immigrants and they keep coming (e.g. asylum seekers, etc).

IDK...let Sept. 5th come and see what is the outcome of Dream Act.
