Does anybody have relationship problems, if so how do you overcome it?

How long have you been dating? did you not see some of these red flags before?

I am 28 and dating a 39 years old French dude (with Western African roots) Has 3 kids from previous marriage. My parents will never accept him so I am thinking if there is even a point in pursuing it. Plus he only has a GC. Does not want to get citizenship for tax reasons.
