This is good news! But I don't think Arnold will sign off on it even if it does pass the State Senate... There were serious cuts to the state's budget and colleges suffered huge losses... Fees went up, classes got cut... I doubt Arnold will sign it.

if grey davis is still our CA goveror, i think we got our DL long time ago.....damn..... i remember three years ago, he allowed illegal immigrants get the DL, but he lost his election. SAD SAD SAD.........i don't understand why somebody said allow illegal immigrants get the DL is dangerous ways. if someone hit and run, isn't it more dangerous than other things?

absolutely... it's not like 9/11 happened because we gave them license... stupid logic but wutever, they prefer millions of us driving illegally without insurance.

Even if arnold approves... it's not legalization right? Just financial grants/ help since state can't pardon us... But of course that would still be a huge help...

That's the worst argument I've heard for the undocumented to get a DL. Hit and run is a felony, and should be prosecuted to fullest whether you're a citizen/illegal. If not having a DL would compel someone from fleeing the scene of an accident, then they deserve to be deported.

Reasonable arguments would be something like; more drivers would be insured, more would be willing to report crimes without fearing deportation, etc.
