Are passport photos really required?

Who has been sending renewals with without passport photos?

Anyone?

WTF is up with all the resistance to the passport photos? Instructions clearly state that you need to send them. Still if you don't want to, then don't.

Some people's app have been returned because they were too lazy and stingy to send 2 passport photos.

Anyone?

I don’t remember needing one.

The EAD card photo is taken onsite when you do biometrics. Pretty sure I didn’t last time.

+1

At OP:
Dude, I'm sure you've seen many posts about this... Some people send it, some don't. Some people swear they never send it and the renewals go through. Some people say they send it because the instructions say so.

Go with your gut. If you are on the fence, go get the pictures. It's like $10.

Why give USCIS ANY reason to deny something so important to you?

That's the way I see it. Passport photos are like $5 at Costco.

The end of the world. Pay the money for the photos and send them in or risk giving that grumpy ass, old Trump supporting, DACA hating, USCIS case reviewer a reason to kick my app back to me?

Also... nice avatar. ;)

I've sent them in every time.

If you want to be SUPER CHEAP.. you can take a photo with your phone camera and then use a website or a phone app to turn the photo into a 4-wallet sized photos that can fit on a 4x6 photograph then send the photo to wallgreens to be printed for $0.10 for 4x 2x2 photographs.

Nice. Never thought of that. Make sure they follow the guidelines on the forms:

"The passport-style photos must be 2” by 2”. The photos must be in color with full face, frontal view on a white to off-white background. Head height should measure 1” to 1 3/8” from top to bottom of chin, and eye height is between 1 1/8’ to 1 3/8” from bottom of photo. Your head must be bare unless you are wearing headwear as required by a religious order of which you are a member. Using pencil or felt pen, lightly print your name and Alien Receipt Number on the back of the photo."
