Mexican passport anyone?

My fellow dreamers,
Long story short. I am trying to buy a house and they asked me to get a Mexican passport being that I am not a Citizen or a resident. Is this a problem or should I be ok? Have any of y’all gotten one in the past while having DACA?

That’s an odd request from a lender. Am on DACA , bought a house 2 yrs ago and DACA was never part of the conversation.
You can always go to a Mexican consulate office and obtain a Mexican passport, the only thing it will lack is the actual visa stamp. Good luck on this journey.

It's just their protocol, maybe they think you are an illegal and that is how they give loans to people without documents.

Remember DACA just came out in 2012 and is not that popular until last year when Trump made it popular.

Just go with what they ask. You will probably get a high interest.

I never mentioned Daca only told them that I had a work permit that I renew every 2 years. I didn’t want to get all the paperwork in and then they tell me that there is a problem. I have to go to the Mexican consultant office in Houston (I’m in Dallas) because they don’t have any appointments this month and I close on the house at the end of the month.

Interest is 4.8. He said that they have to ask for it since I am not a citizen or a resident.

Sometimes these processes require you to have multiple IDs to prove your identity. Maybe it is that?

It’s an FHA Loan 3.5 fixed rate for 30 years.
