The One That Got Away
It was a hot night in August, 2001. I was a young buck, 13 years to be exact and still a virgin. By this point, I've already kissed three girls my age and held hands with two. Needless to say, none of them gave me the 'butterflies' people spoke of and it was easy for me to let them go. It was all easy back then, until I met The One That Got Away.
Now, I'm in the world's biggest little city, Reno, at the Circus Circus in downtown on the corner of North Sierra Street and West 6th. Outside, it wasn't much to look at. It was littered with homeless, trash, hoodrats, and dogs congregating on the corners of every street. Inside it was vibrant, the slot machines resonated off the walls, and the second hand smoke penetrated through my lungs, rushed to my brain and made me feel alive. With my new found confidence, I walk to the adventuredom. Looking dapper in my clean black/gold Osiris D3 shoes, fitted Anchor Blue jeans, ironed button up flannel from Savers . I zigzag my way through the copious amount of screaming children, eventually to the ring throwing stand and there she was. A tall, slender, perfectly tan brunette with long wavy hair and gorgeous arctic blue eyes. Everything she did was perfect. She missed every single ring, but they floated perfectly in the air and landed purposefully on the floor. I stood there for 15 minutes and I began feeling this pain in my chest. Initially, I thought it was the exposure to second hand smoke, but then it spread through my entire body and it was at this moment that I realized I just had my "butterflies" in the stomach moment. I wanted to go up and tell her that I had been staring at her for 15 minutes and I just wanted to say hey, but the paralysis prevented me. Before I could snap out of it, I hear someone yell "Leslie!" and there she went. Frolicking towards and past me. She gave me a smile. I melted. Her being has been etched eternally in my memory. When I am making love with my woman, I will look deep into her beautiful blue eyes, fixate my pupils on her hazel freckles scattered through her iris and it will remind me of Leslie. Dreamers. Do you have a story about The One That Got Away? |

I read this article the other day and thought it was interesting especially since right now I’m sure that I’m experiencing love #3. Never posted a link here so not sure if it will work.

Ooh that's not very nice about you thinking about other woman when making love to your actual woman. Think about it what if your woman has that one the got away and she was doing the same thing?? Thinking about another man??

Re: The One That Got Away
The one who got away is a half Venezuelan and half Italian girl named Vanessa.
I will never forget. Edit: I actually fucked it up and I regret never knowing what she and I would have become. |

Re: The One That Got Away
For the longest time I thought that my HS ex was the one who got away. He was young, immature and not in good steps. We cared about each other very much and even when I met someone else, I always thought that one day life would bring us back together. He would hit me up on social media here and there and we’d chat briefly. He’d tell me how much he regretted all he put me through blah, blah, blah. But as the years past I realized that he was still the same loser from when we were young. He also became very unattractive and just simply disgusted me. Anyway, I thought he was the one but nope I was wrong.
