What banks worked well for you?
 

After building up an emergency fund, I'm looking to put it into a fixed deposit. I'm just super confused as to which bank would be right for me. It may depend on the state and place, but I'm wondering if anyone has had any troubles with Capital One. Most of the banks I've been with are pretty lax. How does your system work and which banks have you chosen?

I've had Capital One for years, no issues on my end.

I'd suggest Credit Unions. See which are available in your area.

Stay away from Wells Fargo. I had a bank account with them and a secured credit card when I first got my social and wanted to start building credit. I tried applying for an unsecured credit card from them and they denied me 3 times due to my social and EAD. Earlier this month I went to a dealer and Wells Fargo approved the auto loan for $21k. Okay....Won't give me a credit card but will approve a $21k loan.. :? :?

Yeah Wells fargo sucks...
One of my friend was in a same situation. Denied for wells fargo cc but discover gave her 5k credit wtf

I put all my money in betterment. Pays more than interest.

They approve cars cuz they make more $$ from you. Not to mention, if you don't pay, they can repo your car vs. trying to chase you down and sell your debt to collection agencies for pennies on dollar.

Trust no bank. They reserve the right to change their terms at their own will. I speak from experience.

My first CC after getting an EAD was capital one, but they wanted a $40/yr fee after the first year. Closed that and moved to an amazon prime visa.

I bank with USAA and also a local credit union.

don't go for major banks.
try with a credit union.

Amazon has their own credit thing going on? What's the annual rate for that, and does it cover Prime?
