So Real ID is a thing in 2 years...

So are we basically permanently grounded starting October 2020?

Any other way to take flights after then, maybe by using Standard DL and additional ID?

Curious what everyone's plan is after that.

Your EAD is in compliance with REAL ID, use it to board.

Well that's good to know...lol...

For some reason I remember knowing that, but must've forgot...as I just started checking up on REAL ID again.

Thanks.

No, the REAL ID rule is simply stating that if you plan on flying using a US state ID, it better be REAL ID compliant.

If you're on DACA, you can get REAL ID at the DMV or simply use your EAD. If not, my understanding is that you'll still be able to use a foreign passport.

Real ID has been around since 2008 I think. It's finally going to catch up with everybody soon. Piece of shit law that was attached to defense spending.

I believe NY requires US citizenship or Green Card proof for Real ID...unless I read the requirements wrong...

Edit: Actually dont quote me on the above as I think you can provide a foreign passport and additional documents...will have to double check...lol...

EAD from DACA is a valid ID for real ID. I read the actual bill that implemented realID.

I live in NC and am sitting here with realID in my wallet. The only one grounding you from the skies is yourself.
