Do I need my wife’s tax return? Medical exam?
 

I have everything already but the lawyers is asking for 2016 tax return. Is this necessary? Is medical exam before or after the nnferview ?

Medical exam is before. It had better be done before the interview date.

Did you not ask why he requires 2016 return?

I would ask exactly why he/she needs the tax return, but my guess is that the lawyer needs it to fill out the form i-864 (Affidavit of Support). The form requires tax returns from the past 3 years.

The medical exam is done before the interview, usually 1-2 days prior to the interview.

your lawyer is probably asking because they may want to use that as proof that you pay taxes or proof or your residence or proof of bona fide marriage. Regarding the medical exam, you need that before, have it done soon. USCIS recently change its rules so th at if you are missing something, you get denied, no more REFS (Request for evidence). Do it now, I heard medical exams have also change which they now require blood test, which can take about 2 weeks

Hmmm...they may have changed the rules since when we filed. When my husband filed for me back in 2015 he only provided his most recent tax return.
