Graham sees potential for deal to end shutdown

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Sunday on CNN a compromise on border security that “might save the day in the Senate” was possible in the Senate.

“At the end of the day, there’s a deal to be had,” he said to “State of the Union” host Dana Bush, adding, “We need to start talking again.“

Graham described the outlines of a potential deal that would exchange funding for a border wall, as sought by President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans, in exchange for protections for those known as Dreamers, those undocumented immigrants who have grown up in the U.S. after being brought here as young children. Those protections have been sought by Democrats on the Hill.

"So to my Democratic friends, there will never be a deal without wall funding and many Republicans are going to offer something as an incentive to vote for wall funding that you have supported in the past,” Graham said.

TPS is deferred action, but by another name.
TPS= deferred action, EAD.
Daca (half-ass version of Dream Act)= deferred action, EAD.

No, they need to seriously negotiate Dream Act (no age cap), a refugee program for TPS (since the status is conditioned on the danger in the countries of origin), and legalization to gain wage parity and labor protections.

If you check CNN youtube page the words out of Grahams mouth are for BRIDGE ACT (a ONE TIME three year work permit for DACA recipients only, not all dreamers) and extension of TPS for 5 billion dollars, NOT LEGALIZATION

And it has no freakin travel. The Bridge Act is even worse than the original DACA.

If their plan is to give us BRIDGE ACT then just leave DACA alone instead.. DACA is better than BRIDGE ACT.

As Graham heads to tWH today, there is some chatter..strictly between bipartisan senators..about a potential way out of the shutdown $5.7 billion for wall & a DACA fix along with some other immigration provisions. Graham has pushed a bipartiswn DACA fix for a while
