Change jobs or wait?
 

Dilemma: I am getting married in August, so I will need at least 10 days off from work which I have available at my current job, but I am at a point where I want another job and I dont know if I should wait until after I get married just to get my vacations, or should I just apply for a new job and hope the new company gives me the time off when August rolls around.

What would you guys do?

Get a new job, don't wait. Just tell them you're getting married and need the days off. They will give it to you.

It's well off in advance that there is no reason why you should delay it. I would suggest looking now if that is something you have been floating around in your mind. If you get the role, let them know that you are getting married in August and have prior arrangements planned already. I doubt they will say no.

Same thing happened to me. I planned our honeymoon well in advance, back in September for the final week of January. I started a new role/job in December, informed my manager about the honeymoon and she said it was fine. This was a short of a notice as you can get.

Agree with others.. start looking for a new gig, be upfront with them in the interview process and let them know you have that commitment.
