Yes, regardless of immigration status, anyone who made money in the US is required to report its income. Fun fact, you're required to declare any income, even if was acquired illegally. Have you heard of Al Capone?

Would they go after you if you don't report your income? If you didn't make much, you may be fly under the radar for a while, but once they find out the IRS will come after you with all they've got.

As far as the IRS is concerned, we are all considered resident aliens. So yes, if you got a W2 or 1099 this year and it's over their limits for having to file and/or pay taxes, you'll be on their radar.

We are all U.S persons for Tax purposes. If you have income you have to report taxes. Quite possibly the worst post I’ve seen in my lifetime.
