👩*🦱 How likely is the path to citizenship? Should we still be cautious?

I've been always a little hush hush about me being a DACA person, mostly because I just don't want to deal with naysayers.

But if we're likely to get into something good within 2 years from now, it would just make no sense to not be proud about it.

So do you think it's a good idea to be vocal about it? How likely, do you think, is the path to citizenship now that politics have changed?

It’s always better to be cautious. There is no real bill out there right now. The talks are in early stages. Be optimistic but please be prepared for the worst

Jesus Christ having DACA does not make you a special snowflake, if anything, it is a major setback for our lives, dont brag about being a DACA dont say ANYTHING about being a DACA. It will ONLY put obstacles in your life even worse in your career.

No matter what the MSM says it is the same crap as we were back when obama was in office, chances are high that the only thing we are getting out of this administration is an extension of DACA to 4 years. Why you might ask? We are just not a priority, way too much going on plus you got these imbeciles at United We Dream sabotaging everything with their "legalization for all" bullsht.

Lay low until you got that green card on your hands.

If people would have kept quiet we wouldn’t have daca. Although with no fault of our own we still keep moving forward, it is something to take pride in. Remember if you keep your head down now, you will always keep your head down. However, you have to be careful where you come out as a daca to. There are actors of bad faith that are either bitter in life, jealous, racist i.e. for what ever their reason they want others to fail just like them. This time we have support from big corporations like Apple, I have a good feeling that this time something good will come out.

Cook also expressed his support, on behalf of the Business Roundtable, for making a permanent legal solution for DACA a priority in Biden's first 100 days as president.

Any Bill in congress faces an uphill battle, it's been like that for decades. It's ok to be optimistic but also plan accordingly and don't solely depend on congress.

I'd put it at 20%. Hopefully, 10 senators come on board.

Few months ago couple of my friends and I got together. One didn't know I was on DACA so she starts talking shit about it. My conscience didn't let me slide that. I told her I was on DACA and she goes "oh no"

Fuck her.

But... I understood that it is best to just keep it under the wraps unless absolutely necessary.

This is why is hard to discuss politics with family/friend/co-workers. They will either have an uninformed or bad faith opinion on the matter. As a daca holder you will be very vulnerable. Careful who you tell your problems to, some will be empathetic and some will be glad you have them.

I would keep low about it - you just never know who is listening.
