Extreme USCIS processing delays?

Im seeing situations in a bunch of DACA communities and from people under other categories which qualify for EADs that it seems like USCIS is taking an insane amount of time processing EADs for renewal, has anybody renewed their DACA 1 year before expiration? Maximum i have done is 8 months and i lost a few months(which i dont care) back in 2019.

I've filed 14 months early before right after the NDCA injunction dropped. Lost 5 months on it.

I expire December 2021, I sent my renewal on June 2020. They just hold it till it's 150 days away from your expiration date and mail you the work permit then.

I sent mine as soon as I got my last approval since not sure if it could get struck down any day and they might process whatever they already have. I have lost 5 months last two times but I'd rather have peace of mind.

That’s not bad considering you waited a full pregnancy term

Have any of you done biometrics in person lately?

Yeah but you know how it was back then, we all scrambled to get another renewal done just in case the injunction wouldn't hold. Luckily it did, it got to SCOTUS that told Trump to pound sand and despite a mountain of bullshit we still have it.

Do they hold it and then send you a receipt letter until about 150 days before expiration ? Or do they send you a letter immediately acknowledging receipt of your application and then hold it? Do you know?

They send you a letter acknowledging receipt of application, application fee will be processed, biometrics scheduled or run if going in person is waived, and then they hold onto it until around 150 days before expiration.
