American dream gone... Can I self deport? 😢

Guys I lost everything and have a very bad gambling addiction... Owe $10,000 in credit card debt, have really bad credit, and just got my car reposessesed for non-payment(title-pawn) with no way of paying to recover it... I have no money to my name with rent due next week and no way to get to work now... DACA expires in 3 months... talk about Depression... Been a DACA recipient since 2012 and I'm 27 now... I have no family here my parents went back to their homeland 2 years ago and left me here to fend myself but in that time I have really messed my life up. I don't see what's left for me here besides living on the streets since there's no way to get my car back and live a normal life again. My only hope of a better life is to move back in with my parents and start fresh again with the education I learned here. I can't even buy a plane ticket...Is there a way to just go to the immigration office, tell them your situation, and self deport? Thanks...

this is a dead forum. however, I dont feel sorry for you at all because you were not and you are not and probably you won't be serious in your life.
if you think you will be serious in your life then I feel sorry for you and suggest you go to nearest church, community center and ask them to borrow fee for your daca application and submit as soon as possible and pay them back.
go to local stores and ask them you will work double hours for even less money to pay your rent.
you still have chance. you have not loss anything because car and credit can be fix again. I lived without car and credit for 12 years.
dont self deport and your a mature guy. so be brave and fix your life. hope this will help :)

u act like gambling doesn't exist in ur home country.

self-deporting is the least of ur worries.

I'll bet my last $ that u'll go back to ur gambling life style once u move back with ur parents since they'll pay ur rent for u & u have extra $ lying around for gambling.

You need to straighten up right now. You are not in as bad of a situation as you think. 10k isn’t even that much money, get a job and you can recover from this. There are jobs everywhere, go get one right now. If you still have your car, I would say start driving for door dash, see if you can somehow get your car back.

Sounds like a mess, but your issues are money management, and sounds like your parents did everything for you before they left. You’re wanting to go back to the country where you were born because you want your parents to take care of you. Is that what you want for your life?

You can start over again here but you’re gonna have to work hard and leave the excuses. Save money, stop gambling, save for a small cheap car. And get some gambling addiction help.

Firstly, I am sorry you are in this situation. Moving to another country is not going to solve your problems. Infact, it may make it worse given it may be a culture shock, lack of opportunities etc.

Like others said:

1) Go to a church or community
2) Get sponsorship to renew daca (do this ASAP. I am happy to pay half but will only write a check to the USCIS and not in any individual's name)
3) Get a job - there are way too many employers hiring for someone to not have a job
4) Do you have a college education? Long term but try to get an education or certification worth something - IT, Electrician, car mechanic

@HopeDreamer I've been through the same situation (maybe even worse).. back in 2017
It was so bad.

It was a number of things, probably more things than you. Not going to mention everything but pretty much same as you or worse.

Also lost my car, which was impounded, and to get it back I had to spend the money I had saved for my DACA renewal. There for, I could not renew and this was when hater Jeff Sessions was attorney general.

My daca had expired.. and couldn't apply because of the restrictions hater jeff had put in place.

I had lost my job. And had been living on savings for months already. Then after losing DACA I lived like a year without it until expired renewals were re-instated by the courts.

I got by spending 1$ or 2$ a day

I didn't live on the streets but close enough.

I was very patient though, I was going to the gym, and just focusing on bettering myself.. studying and preparing for months for interviews (tech), and hitting the gym - (riding the bus or a bike to get there!) these were the main activities.

Eventually, that paid off. I was able to to get back on my feet. Hit me up! - Lets talk

Not to pile on but your issues have very little if nothing to do with your immigration status. You also act like your parents leaving was partially to blame because they left you to "fend" for yourself but I would argue that you actually had it easier because they left and made you only be responsible for yourself and not them as well.

So many of us have been helping take care of our parents throughout our lives. I did that when I was much younger than you were and I didn't (and still don't have) a work permit. I still get asked by people "Why didn't you get married when you were in your 20s?" ....well in part it had to do with me working 80 hour weeks till 4 in the morning often on a cash job so I could help support my family. If it were just me, my life would have been completely different.

Not to mention now that parents are very old, one is very sick and needs extra caretaking taking up a lot of my free time. You don't have any of those worries, just yourself. And with DACA you have a gift that I only dream about now. If you throw that away, then what will you have?

I don't know what the shortterm answer is for you, but I don't think this is it.

Like what others said this place is a dead forum. You did what you did and must face the consequences. Accept the situation and move on from it. I can't tell you what to do but I always tell myself and others, "there is always a light in the end on this tunnel". Don't give up. Do you think going back to your home country will make any difference? Ponder on that

dude file for bankruptcy or something, I mean not to sound cold but you need to get your gambling problem in check before you do anything cause that addiction will follow you everywhere, it doesn't matter where you go and your parents shouldn't have to deal with that shit. Get some help to renew your daca or if you just want to quit everything and go back to your country hope you learned your lesson and start fresh but been someone who adds to your society and not just use it.
