Finally, a bipartisan deal to help the "Dreamers"
Big news:
Sen. Thom Tillis and Kyrsten Sinema have reached a deal on a framework of immigration reforms: *Protections for 2 million Dreamers *New resources to speed processing asylum seekers *Fast removal of migrants who don't qualify More details here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opini...-within-reach/ According to Greg Sargent of WaPo, his tweet: Advocates tell me they think 10 GOP senators are gettable for these reforms, mostly Republicans who are retiring or are willing to challenge the GOP's Trump wing. Will Republicans support something that *actually* would bring more order to the border? source: https://twitter.com/ThePlumLineGS/st...C96cfh2LMsAAAA |

Big news: Sen. Thom Tillis and Kyrsten Sinema have reached a deal on a framework of immigration reforms: *Protections for 2 million Dreamers *New resources to speed processing asylum seekers *Fast removal of migrants who don't qualify A white paper outlining the framework of reforms that Tillis and Sinema have agreed to is circulating among lawmakers and advocates. Sources describe the details to me as follows: https://twitter.com/ThePlumLineGS/st...zyZCR-UeBgHZhw Advocates tell me they think 10 GOP senators are gettable for these reforms, mostly Republicans who are retiring or are willing to challenge the GOP's Trump wing. Re: Finally, a bipartisan deal to help the "Dreamers"
This is a deal of a life time. Incredible last stoppage minute action from Synema and Thommy Thillis out of nowhere!
Watch UWD and Co. come all out against this in numbers. They are against any sort of deal to legalize Dreamers!! Their very existence is under threat now with looming legalization of Dreamers meaning a downturn in their donations! |
Re: Finally, a bipartisan deal to help the "Dreamers"
I wonder which will be harder, convince Democrats to make this compromise or to convince 10 Republicans to support this... The article doesn't mention timing, does anyone know by when something like this would have to get done?

I want to see the full deal.. this sounds too good to be true...
I wonder if the protections include citizenship or if it's like a permanent renewable work permit. I don't see 10 GOP senators voting for a bill that gives legal status to 2M people. Also, are there any co-sponsors to this bill? |
