Traveling to TJ first time.

I want to travel to TJ and it will be my first time since getting my GC. I have a ton of questions so please bear with me.

1. Since I was born in Mexico. I do need a passport to enter TJ right?
- I was watching youtube videos regarding the pedestrian entrance
at the San Ysidro crossing and there was a line for foreigners and
Mexican nationals. I would just use the Mexican nationals entrance
with no passport.??

2. Overnight parking.
- Ill be driving and want to park overnight. I've been looking at the
parking areas in google maps and at their websites and they say like
$15/8hr (or something like that) . But Im not sure if I take munch
longer than that Illl just get charged the diference when I come back
(I dont want to get towed).

3. Which currency to use.
I plant to use the clubs and am not sure which currency is best to use.
Ive been seeing a lot of youtube videos and they all say different
things about wich is best to use.

Re: Traveling to TJ first time.

1. Mexico requires passports from all travelers. Green card (for a non-Mexican) just serves as a visa waiver. You might be able to use a re-entry permit in lieu of a passport but this stuff gets iffy for nationals since most countries require a national to enter using that nation's passport.
2. Honestly, I'd recommend calling in and asking but I doubt any parking garage would tow you unless you leave it there for a few days.
3. Probably just get pesos in US. Touristy places that take foreign currencies can get very creative with the exchange rates. Not sure how bad Tijuana is but if you were to go somewhere like Prague with Euros they'd completely fleece you.

I've been trying to get an appointment for a visa at my local consulate bit they keep saying there's no appointments. I've tried the San Bernardino and Santa Ana office

Re: Traveling to TJ first time.

I've talked to several of my co-workers that come and go into TJ. And they ALL have told me that if I'm just going to TJ I don't need Mexican passport. All I need is my green card. Ill be taking my Mexican birth certificate and CA licence just in case. Ill eventually get a Mexican passport, but right now the Mexican consulates don't even have appointments.
