Trump will send the message in a video set to release on social media platforms this week, calling on illegal immigrants to use the CBP Home app to announce their departure from the country. The DHS unveiled the app earlier this month after removing the Biden-era CBP One app, which was used to allow migrants into the U.S.

"People in our country can self-deport the easy way, or they can get deported the hard way, and that's not pleasant," Trump says in the video.

"The Biden administration exploited the CBP One app to allow more than 1 million aliens to illegally enter the United States. Now, my administration is launching the CBP Home app to give people in our country illegally an easy way to leave now and self-deport voluntarily," he continues.

"If they do, they will have the opportunity to potentially return legally at some point in the future, but if they do not avail themselves of this opportunity, then they will be found. They will be deported, and they will never be admitted to the United States ever, ever again," Trump adds.

I do not see how this could be a 5D chess play. Why would anyone leave and risk not returning for a "maybe" when they can just wait out these two years until mid-terms and see the way the wind blows. Even the never-ever threat is limited to what, 3 years tops. Maybe 2 years. It assumes another administration will retain the never-ever barrier. Big IF. If mid-terms go poorly for them they're going to be severely constrained. If they go well for them, then you still got the extra time.

Running out the clock on them seems like the best strategy. Judges will chew up the time making sure they follow the rules down to a T in the convoluted court system.

I think they might do something for DACA though, but others are going to face some hard times. My evidence for this is that they haven't done anything really negative thus far. Who knows maybe that'll change?

I've had some more time to think about this. It's simply revealing that they don't have the capability to do mass deportations, at least not without an unbearable social, economic, and political cost.

They want people to leave of their own accord and they're gonna make it a difficult as possible for them to live here. But I think ultimately it's going to fail and already has big impacts. The US has only a seven day food supply and food is just not getting picked.

Also Trump doesn't made any claim that you will get to leave without a re-entry ban, rather his (wrong) claim is that you won't ever come back after a deportation, guess what, it's all 10 year bans and whether you get one or two it won't change a god damn thing for you.
