Bachelor’s Degree Completion

Approximately 5% of DACA recipients have completed a bachelor’s degree. This estimate is supported by a 2017 report from the Migration Policy Institute, which found that about 57,000 DACA-eligible individuals had earned a four-year degree at that time. Given that the total number of DACA recipients was around 800,000, this equates to roughly 7% . 

Some College Experience

A significant portion of DACA recipients have pursued higher education without completing a degree. According to the same Migration Policy Institute report, over 130,000 DACA-eligible individuals had completed some college but were no longer enrolled, and approximately 25,000 had earned two-year associate degrees . 

These figures indicate that while a relatively small percentage of DACA recipients have completed a bachelor’s degree, a larger portion have engaged in higher education to some extent.

I have a masters from a top 10 uni. Though nowadays, degrees aren't the path to success like they used to be and this was true 10-15 and even 20 years ago. The weird thing about not wanting to grant in-state tuition is that they want to reserve college class seating for citizens, but in some of my advanced computing classes there were only 3 people and two of us were immigrant.

Weirdly, in my first programming class there was no seating available but by mid terms the room was half empty. Same in my masters program, handful of citizens and mainly chinese and indians. I don't think there is any truth to the limited seating theory.

Imagine if they make it so only the successful DACAs get greened lol. Nah, they should help everyone who behaves.

I doubt it. Lack the technical acumen. Give off more of a car dealership vibe. Go you, making money off dumbfucks and their car payments though. 6 figures is what they pay entry level employees here after they've been around for 2-3 years.

That's some real trash data.

Report is from 2017, the table is based on 2010-2014 ACS data. Issues at hand are multifold:
1. ACS data doesn't let you really filter by multiple criteria, all it is how many people in a vacuum tick each box for a given category. Trying to use this data to describe a specific subset of population is basically divination. Now, I did try to follow the chain of citations to try to see the methodology but I couldn't find their reference at all.
2. USCIS never released educational profiles of DACA recipients, all you've got are ages, sexes, countries of origin, and states of residence. Of note is that DACA doesn't even ask about education above high school.
3. Even if we were to presume that data from #1 is good, reweighting it by population delta is really a route to nowhere. If you're enrolled in college you'll stop being enrolled by one of two things happening - you graduate, or you drop out.
If we presume that 20% are currently enrolled in college after 3 years a significant chunk would've graduated or dropped out likely with higher graduation rate due to now being able to work and some states (like at the time Florida) allowing DACAers to get instate tuition rates.
On the flipside the new inflow until initial DACA applications got halted were primarily kids that aged into the program or the borderline cases who went back and got their GEDs. Though that trickle in likely wouldn't overpower the initial whiplash of people who suddenly could go to college doing so.
Weighing population trends requires the inflows and outflows to be fairly consistent.
4. I feel like using a data window where the program didn't even exist (pre-August 2012), is a really weird choice.

Now, who here has graduated after 2014? I have (2015). I'm not counted in the 5% number they pulled our their collective asses, according to them I was still in school 2 years after graduation.

Daca aren't eligible for student loans. I worked my way through in an out of state tuition status. Desk at a car dealership office. I did not see a denial of dealership status. Why are you so pressed about it, it's legal work and nothing to be ashamed about.

Simply for my tech job degrees are a requirement, masters degrees are looked at favorably. But you shouldn't feel inferior in any way. Degrees nowadays and for the last 20 years haven't had a good return on investment for most degrees. It's all psyop. Though the point of Dream Act was that it was for us to have a way to permanent status for graduating college. I made sure to do good research on degrees and made the best of my situation and it worked out well and I have a good life in the tech industry.

Some jobs don't require degrees and thats fine. Personally, if I were to do it all again I'd do a trade and then move to the EU.

Whatever you do, I think most people should probably go your route because most college degrees aren't worth the cost to obtain them and they'd be better served with a cheap 2 year associates degree or on the job training like they used to do back in the day. Back when corporate America actually cared about their employees. This was probably the start of the end of American industrial dominance. Back when corporations used to think of their employees as positive assets to grow and develop cost efficiencies from skill. Instead of now where employees as seen as a cost and need to be reduced as much as possible to try to obtain efficiencies from overworking people.

Jack Welch was the inventor of a lot of these horrendous ideas, he and the consultant companies that come in to destroy a company and take the blame for difficult/terrible decisions.

Especially the MBA, how about you just start a business?

If you have a STEM degree, most likely 1-2% of total too.
