Are Daca Approvals taking longer for anyone else????
 

Hello, I was wondering if anyone is experiencing a longer than usual wait to get their EAD renewal approved. This will be my last renewal because i am getting married in a few months...the last time i did my renewal(2024) it was approved in two days.!

Nothing has changed...nothing to update...no new information submitted with this new application, i know this government has been a little unpredictable but my EAD is expiring on 02/06/26...which is exactly one month from now and I am getting just slightly worried I may not get it in time...i submitted early december...i should have applied earlier but money was tight...Anyone in the same boat?

Did your I-797 notice have a note about an extension? Some EAD renewals state that the receipt provides a 180 day extension while the new work permit is in process, but not sure if that is the same for DACA?

DACA work permits don’t qualify for an extension.

You submitted late, you should have submitted at least 6 months in advance. Lawyers are even now recommending to apply 1 year earlier cuz of this administration.

If nothing has changed re: bio/demographic information, they should process the document within a reasonable time. Six months is understandable. People pay for the processing; anything longer than 6months means they have to rehire the workers idiot M usk got fired. Christ, what an a**hole. Seems the purpose of his ridiculous DOGE was to get access to Americans' data and to see the processes that he would otherwise have absolutely 0 right to see.

... 150 days is ideal...it has never taken me this long, that's why im asking...last time in 2024...it took 2 days to approve, and got the card 2 weeks after

The extended government shutdown probably has something to do with the delay. It most likely created a backlog that the limited staff is working through. Layoff probably hit them hard

I expire in September 2026 and plan on submitting my renewal in February

How is 6 months and longer reasonable to process a EAD renewal?
People and employers are impacted.
Customers and patients are impacted.

Everyone is getting their W2s now; should the public wait six months until October to file and pay taxes?

Exactly! this is absurb. I cannot sit at home and not work for six months when nothing on my record has changed. But that's just Trump's administration and Kristi Noem is the one to blame...people like me who has a clean record. Never been in trouble, I pay taxes and have 2 jobs, my stuff should have been approved already. Everyone else has to suffer based on other immigrants who made poor choices, and this administration does not give a damn. I had to speak to an immigration attorney just to see if there was anything more that can be done about this and he said...I have done everything I was supposed to do and I just have to wait till they approve and send out the new card....in the event that i do not receive my card before it expires on 02/06/26 ....I cannot work. And even if I did submit it earlier around October, the governement shutdown affected these applications because they were not approving any during that time according to my attorney...
