Re: Obama faces pressure on immigration reform (DREAM ACT)
We have the usual opposition against us and they are working hard to bring us down before the fight as even begun, so we are going have to work put all our energy together as one and fight twice as hard to get the results we want. 2009 is our year of victory not 2010, 2011 or 2012. ITS 2009 YES WE CAN!!!!

Re: Obama faces pressure on immigration reform (DREAM ACT)
We got pretty close in 2008 and it seemed harder then than it does now. We need to get on this and I'm excited for those massive calling campaigns and protests and everything.

Re: Obama faces pressure on immigration reform (DREAM ACT)
2009 for sure i cant see dream act passing in 2010 being its an election year and 2010 well who knows the GOP might regain some seats. so definitely 2009 has to be our year.

Re: Obama faces pressure on immigration reform (DREAM ACT)
^I think we have to take the chances as they come & make the best opportunity of them.Never is a looooooong time.
This idea that Dream act will never pass just because it doesn't come up for a vote or pass in '09 is imo, ludicrous.I think the most important things to watch out for are what Harry Reid,Durbin,Pelosi & Obama have to say for themselves after this election about immigration, everything else is just speculation.I also believe we'll get a good hint as soon as Obama is sworn in after the Jan. 21st marches & how he replies in a governing position should set the tone on anything immigration related. |
Re: Obama faces pressure on immigration reform (DREAM ACT)
The undocumented student from Mexico whose case has become a lightning rod in the immigration debate had been released on $2,500 bond just a couple hours earlier. The 21-year-old student at Kennesaw State University in Georgia surrendered Friday morning to authorities in response to a warrant for her arrest issued Wednesday night by the Cobb County Sheriff's Office.
