I got my permanent residence
 

Petition was filed from my aunt for my dad(directly related brother) back in 1997 and I was 14 back then, and it took slightly over 10 years for USCIS to notify us to submit required paper works. That was last year, in september I believe.
It was certain that my parents would get their residence without any problems, but my case wasn't absolute because I am now over 21(you do the math).
After getting our working permits and pictures taken, we went to have an interview approximately four month later. An officer(that's what he called himself, with his last name) who interviewed us told us that he will notify us in six weeks. In slightly less than four weeks, our family got letters for each individuals, stating that we will all get permanent residence cards in three weeks. I did get it this week, on friday.

With all the sayings of how it is not possible to get the green card if someone is over 21 years of age regardless of when the petition was filed, I just wanted to make a clear example of how uncertain things could turn out.

I'm not leaving this domain, and I will keep my support for all of you dreamers out there.
