You can apply to visit your aunt if she's having a medical treatment or to visit your cousin's grave. You can also volunteer w/ a charitable org that works in Mexico.

Disclaimer - I haven't used AP or renewed. However, a copy of the AP docs seems helpful for renewal based on http://dreamact.info/forum/showthread.php?t=69039 It just seems smart to retain a copy...

You're welcome. I'd warn against calling. At best you're talking to low-level people (even if you request a level 2 rep) who have no direct involvement with your case. Also, it's only been a week.
