Re: Senate Dream act debate/Vote
That was the most pathetic, embarrassing speech I've ever heard John McCain give. Oh man, how far he has fallen.

Also, as a part of his argument against DREAM, he just said he thought about Oliver Cromwell in the shower this morning.
Yep. Sen. Goofy said that.

I am intrigued. Is there any record of this conference call anywhere? Like maybe a transcript or an article about it?

It's how the Senate works. First, the Majority Leader files a cloture motion (which is what he did last night for the DADT bill and the DREAM Act). Then, Senate rules say a certain amount of hours...

Re: According to Jorge Ramos we are only 4 votes shy of Passing the Dream Act
The are two Browns in the Senate. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) is a definite yes on DREAM, while Sen. Scott Brown (R-Massachusetts) is a likely no on DREAM.

There are two Nelsons in the Senate. Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Nebraska) is a definite no, but Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Florida) is a definite yes.

I am such a klutz. In this list, I forgot two Democrats, so I am going to add them now.

59. Landrieu
That means, according to my guesswork, DREAM has 59 good yes votes. However, I...

If that's true, then we should be able to guess who the 56 Senators are that are going to vote yes on cloture. Here's my guess for the 56:
1. Akaka
2. Inouye
3. Begich
4. Murray
