I live in Cali and go to Hawaii couple of times per year to visit my relatives. I have a passport no visa and no problems flying so far.

I live in Cali also. Don't be scared. As long as you fly within the US, your valid foreign passport (no visa) is enough. Like I said, they just need to match the name on your passport with the one...

You can use your valid foreign passport with no visa to fly within the US. I've done this a lot. They only need to match the name on your ID with the name on the boarding pass.
