well I dunno about other states but in california Medi-cal is availabe for even undocumented. But you have to be super poor or super old. My dad had Pneumonia few years back and we weren't "poor" enough even with 20,000 debt. Nor was he over 65, after a week of hospitalization and few surgeries, BAM 55,000 debt~
