Hey there!

My name is Josh. I'm a prospective college student who will be traveling soon, and I would like some information on the rights of immigrants within the United States.

According to the ILRC website, if Immigration Service attempts to arrest someone, they are urged to remain silent and not to show any documents.

Does that mean if someone is asked to show some ID, they are not required to comply?

If one chooses to remain silent and not show anything, could they be detained?
