Ok, first of all, if your mom is willing to help you guys out, then you can add her as a sort of cosigner. I can't think of the right word, but it pretty much means that both of you would be responsible for your husband. You do need to look into getting a job, though, because you're right. He would likely not be approved if you don't have an income. Don't worry because to begin, you don't need to prove any income, that comes later. I think you might be able to start the process without a job, as long as you have the money for the application fees.

He will be able to become legal, if approved, without leaving the US since he entered with a visa. So that's a plus.

I'm about to go through this with my husband, except he's the USC.
