I think we just need to chill out for some time because everything is on track. I understand that many of us have been waiting for years and years. It is completely normal to be extremely frustrated. If you think about it with a calm mind, President Obama has accomplished SO MUCH in just 8 MONTHS. He was successful in passing the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act which also resulted in heated debates like the current one on Health Care. In addition to this, President Obama has shown a total reversal of American foreign policy by actually speaking to the Muslim world and extending a hand. This was a very important gesture that ushered in an era of peace and respectful exchange with the Muslim world. This is a huge feat considering President Bush's administration focused solely on war and isolating the Muslim world. In short, the point is that President Obama seems determined to actually sit down and work towards everything he promised during his campaign. Some people have been arguing that he is overexposed in the media. I find absolutely no problem with this...He is suppose to be on TV everyday. After all, he is the President of this country and that is his job. In these 8 months, Obama has accomplished more than Bush did in his entire two terms. I was frustrated myself when Obama mentioned that he might have to push CIR legislation to 2010 because his "plate is full" at the moment. However, after thinking about this, I can totally understand because the proof is right before my eyes. This Health Care debate has reached its climax. It will DEFINITELY pass the full Senate and House and President Obama will DEFINITELY sign it this year. I am very hopeful that Schumer will step forward with a CIR bill by labor day as he promised and this will kick off yet another contentious issue for Congress. Finally, the future of CIR hasn't been any brighter considering the passage of major bills such as the Economic stimulus package and the Health Care bill. This is what he meant when he said CHANGE is on its way. The time has come!!!
