I was researching on 245i and found Prena's blog... (hope you don't mind me posting this)

it says she has 245i???? Then why can't she just get sponsored? She was under 21 years of age at the time right? How come she can't use her 245i...

my dad said he filed 245i and he's pending therefore I should be grandfathered under that pending application because I was 12 at the time, online lawyer's website seems to agree... I need to find a lawyer soon..
Well, I am sponsored by my parents. That's another 6-8 year process right now unless we win the pending aging-out lawsuit against ICE. Then, it is a matter of months.

In the meantime, I can't get married because I am gay. Duh.

The other option with a 245-I is the diversity visa lottery.

I can get jobs and I do get offers but employer sponsorship is a tougher issue. I have had people who are willing to do it for me. The paperwork requirements are ridiculous though and the company has the burden to proof that there weren't any other qualified citizen/legal resident applicants. We usually just pay me as an independent consultant. USCIS has been known to reject EB applications just because they can. And that puts you right into deportation. Maybe I'll try it next time since I no longer care much for living here.
